Lenka Vagnerová

Lenka Vagnerova is the founder of Lenka Vagnerova & Company. As a choreographer, dancer, pedagogue and rehearsal director, Lenka has been an active member of the national and international contemporary dance scene.

Lenka studied pedagogy of modern dance at HAMU (Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague) withDoc. Ivanka Kubicová.

As a performer, she has been cooperating with the following choreographers and groups: Claude Brumachon-Benjamin Lamarche CCNN in Nantes, Akram Khan Company – London Olympic Games Opening Ceremony 2012, Cirk La Putyka, DOT504, Jozef Fruček and Linda Kapetanea, Liz King, Veronika Riz, Barbora Kryslová-Greiner, Jan Kodet, Bratislavské divadlo tanca, Torzo Ballet etc.

As a dancer, she received three nominations for the Thalia Award (2003, 2005 and 2010). In 2003, she became the Dance Personality of the Year (Nokia Dance Award). In 2005, the Czech Dance Platform named her the Dancer of the Year.

Lenka participated in the formation of the Czech dance group DOT504 that produced three of her performances. In 2009, she took part in the foundation of the leading Czech new circus company Cirk La Putyka.

Lenka is the author of many performances: Sorcerer, La Loba (Herald Angel Award 2014, Total theatre Award Nomination 2014, Dancer Of The Year 2014),  Jezdci/Riders (Dance Piece Of The Year 2013), 7x7, Dark Horse, Mah Hunt (Audience Award 2011, Thalia Award Nomination 2011), Perfect Day alias Mr. Gluteus Maximus, Proposition, Quadrans, Nikdy Krásný zpěv, she participated in the choreography for the performances Manson (DOT 504) and La Putyka (Cirk La Putyka). 

As a choreographer, Lenka is engaged in theatre, opera or new circus projects. She assisted the production of the Minor Theatre, worked for the National Theatre in Prague, Městská divadla pražská (City Theatres of Prague), Jihočeské divadlo (South Bohemian Theatre) in České Budějovice, Klicperovo divadlo (Klicpera´s Theatre) in Hradec Králové or the Summer Shakespeare Festival in Prague etc.

Lenka has been teaching regularly and running workshops in theatres, dance schools and groups both at home and abroad. 

In 2011, 2014/2015, she served as a Rehearsal Director in the Swedish company Norrdans.
